Apply the following hotfixes for XenServer 6.5 and restart XenServer when the hotfix installation is complete.
SP1001Hotfix XS65ESP1001 - For XenServer 6.5.0 Service Pack 1XenCenter update.
Not a host side hotfix but a windows Installer file and needs to be installed on the Windows machine accessing XenServer , before applying Service Pack 1 hotfix for XenServer .
XenServer 6.5.0 Service Pack 1

XS65ESP1 should be installed by all customers running XenServer 6.5. Installation of XS65ESP1 will be required for future functional hotfixes.

  • Restart the host after applying XenServer 6.5.0 Service Pack 1.
SP1027Hotfix XS65ESP1027 - For XenServer 6.5.0 Service Pack 1This hotfix resolves the following issue:
  • Virtual GPU (vGPU) assigned VMs may fail to restart completely without intervention. This happens when the vGPU emulator process gets blocked, preventing it from servicing the VM's vCPUs, and eventually cause the VM to become unresponsive during restart.
SP1045Hotfix XS65ESP1045 - For XenServer 6.5.0 Service Pack 1After applying this hotfix, customers should upgrade the XenServer Tools in each Windows Virtual Machine (VM) in order to maintain a supported configuration. Updating the tools in a provisioned environment might break the disk unless it is mounted as a local disk.
  • If you connect to a VM using the VNC console in XenCenter when a XenDesktop session is active, the VNC clipboard data can be read and written on the system running XenCenter. This can occur even when the VNC console is black.
  • If an upgrade occurs where the installer is unable to find an emulated network adapter to have ever been present on the system, then, this causes the system to display both Realtek Network Adapter and Citrix Xenserver PV Adapter.
  • The Management Agent can crash and respawn on systems without a terminal services Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) object causing high CPU usage and excessive logging in /var/log/daemon.
  • If you upgrade XenServer Tools when bus or Virtual Interface (VIF) drivers have changed, while network drivers remain unchanged, then the Static IP settings can be lost. This may result incorrect IP address configuration.
  • When running XenDesktop on XenServer, if you have logged on to the console session using terminal services, then, multiple XenDpriv.exeprocesses are seen running. This issue occurs when VMs treat all logins as if they were console logins.
  • Installing XenServer Tools on a Windows 7 Virtual Machine with no Tools installed can cause an error and displays the blue screen of death (BSOD) 0x7E error message.

If a VM has encountered this issue and the registry key HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSystemStartOptions is empty, then, uninstall the installers from Programs and Features before installing XenServer Tools from this hotfix on the VM.

Note: Uninstalling the installer requires a previous copy of the CitrixGuestAgentX64.msi.

Issues Resolved In This Hotfix

This hotfix resolves the following issues:

  • On rare occasions, some Virtual Machine's (VM's) metrics can fail to register or update upon starting or restarting the VM.
  • Under certain conditions, a VM suspend or related operation can get stuck and need a toolstack restart to abort the operation.
  • When creating delta of two snapshots of a VDI in a file-based storage repository, where the second snapshot is of different size, then a VDI_IO_ERROR error is observed. This issue can occur when the VDI size changes between the two snapshots.
  • XenCenter can fail to login members of an Active Directory (AD) group if a domain is offline.
  • After applying multiple hotfixes containing a ca-certificates RPM, some SSL connections may be incorrectly flagged as untrusted. This is because the upgrade scripts did not correctly handle the uninstallation of the previous set of trusted certificates.
