How To Merge Mods Fallout 4

воскресенье 29 мартаadmin

The first time you launch 'Merge Plugins' it will search for supported games (SkyrimLE/SE and Fallout4). It's possible you may have to help it. I want to merge all my weapon mods to save space but every time i try and merge them the one i want to merg3 into does not show up and if i.

Let me first start off by saying that I am only experiencing this problem when trying to merge plugins for Fallout 4. Skyrim (Oldrim) works great and I have yet to mod SSE yet, so I have no idea if this problem carries over to another 64-bit game.

So when using Merge Plugins to bundle up my armor mods, most recent attempt was about 20 mods, or less. Everything works fine until I attempt to actually go through with the merge itself. I can check for errors and resolve errors without a problem but when I merge I will immediately get an error with 'Robocopy' crashing. It crashes on every attempt to merge a mod from my list, meaning that the error popup box itself has to be clicked acknowledging the error for each one of the mods in my merge list. Once that is done spamming me with the error I can clearly see that the merge failed by checking the output folder which just contains a bunch of different TXT files for each failed merge attempt.

Now I know this has nothing to do with the size of the merge I am attempting, I tried to merge two plugins together and I still got the same issue, because I've successfully merged A LOT more plugins for Skyrim (oldrim) without any issues or problems in game. All my weapons, armors, etc show up and to my knowledge it doesn't seem like there is anything bad going on behind the scenes since I tend to try and not merge any plugins that are for heavily scripted mods I am using. I know I can if I wanted to, but it's just something I do. The biggest merged I have right now for Skyrim (oldrim) is just over 80 Mods merged into a single esp file. All armor mods.

I have no idea what 'Robocopy' even is, I assume it's a cmd prompt to carry out stuff behind the scenes when batching my mods together?

Also, I don't use NMM. Using the latest version of Mod Organizer 2 that supports Fallout 4 and now Skyrim SE. (So glad to see somebody picked up where Tanin left off)

I also use Mod Organizer (32bit) for Skyrim (oldrim) and have never had a problem running MP through MO to conduct all my merging needs.

Hope this is enough information regarding my problem, but if you need more just let me know and I can attempt the merge again and zip up my output folder with whatever does get put in there, along with anything else you'd need to troubleshoot.

After 80 hours of playing vanilla Fallout 4, I’ve decided that it’s time for mods. Here’s how you can join me.

Before we get started with the instructions, I want to point out that modding Fallout 4 is simple, but it will get easier as time goes on. Publisher Bethesda has yet to release its official modding tools for its latest open-world hit. We should get that next year along with Steam Workshop support. Steam Workshop is how Valve enables developers and the community to instantly plug add-ons into games natively through Steam. This enables players to click the “subscribe” button on a workshop page in Steam to instantly add mods. But even when that happens for Fallout 4, the process I’m about to go over should always work.

Let’s get to it:

Installing mods

Finding and downloading mods

  1. First, you’ll need to find mods that you want to use with Fallout 4.
  2. The most trusted site right now is Nexus Mods.
  3. Pick a mod like Lowered Weapons, and click on the “Files” tab.
  4. Click the “download manually” link.
  5. Save the file to your desktop or a Fallout 4 mods folder.

Above: Nexus Mods is a great resource.

Extracting and installing mods

  1. Go to the folder you downloaded the mods to.
  2. Use a program like WinRAR to extract the downloaded files into a new folder.
  3. Use the “Extract to …” option to ensure that files don’t get lost or disorganized.
  4. Go into the new folder and copy the applicable files.
  5. Generally, you’ll want to copy the entire folder (Meshes in the Lowered Weapons example).
  6. Find your Fallout 4 install location, which is typically: C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon
  7. Paste the copied folder into Fallout 4’s “Data” folder.
  8. If it asks you to replace or merge files, hit “yes.”

Editing the .ini file

  1. Finally, you need to edit the .ini file to teach Fallout 4 to look for mods.
  2. Find the .ini file, which is almost always here: C:Users*USERNAME*Documentsmy gamesFallout4
  3. Right click on Fallout4.ini and select Edit.
  4. Hit CTRL+F and search the file for this: “sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS”
  5. In the case of Lowered Weapons, add “, MESHES” to the end of that line.
  6. It should now read: “sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS, MESHES”
  7. Go to file and Save As and replace the current .ini file.
  8. Keep in mind that it won’t always be “, MESHES” that you’ll need to add. It depends on the name of the file that you add to Fallout 4’s Data folder.

Now, all you have to do is boot up the game and enjoy. Let us know if you have any issues.
